Welsh Bagpipes - Pibau Cymreig

Newyddion - News

Gafin and Antwn will be performing at the Eisteddfod Genedlaethol in Ebbw Vale this year, on Tuesday 3 Aug at 12.30pm (Llyfrgell Genedlaethol) and at 5.00pm (stage 1)

We will also be launching our new programme of teaching workshops with a piping workshop in the Ty Gwerin at the Eisteddfod at around 3.00pm.

From September, we will be organising monthly workshop days for aspiring and existing bagpipers. The workshop days will be held in Merthyr and Cardiff and will focus on Welsh repertoire for pipes, basic piping techniques, how to articulate and ornament the music, learning by ear, playing as a group and having a lot of fun! Instruments will be available for those people who don’t have their own pipes, or for pipers currently playing different types of bagpipes. The workshops will use the Galician style bagpipe (a common style found along the length of the Atlantic coastal area) in the key of C.

If you’d like more information about dates and times, or other aspects of the workshops, please contact us at bagadmorgannwg@googlemail.com

This workshop programme has been made possible with support from the Arts Council of Wales.
